Trail Ride & Pancake Breakfast
The first Sunday in June (come rain or shine!), the St. Paul Rodeo Royal Court leads 400+ riders on horseback through the fertile farmlands of the North Willamette Valley as it perpetuates the original kick-off function for the rodeo. The day begins at 7:00 am with a no-host pancake breakfast in the City Hall. The ride leaves town at 10:00 am and winds about the countryside for a couple of hours before returning to the rodeo grounds for a complimentary lunch provided by the Rodeo Association and served in the Tack Room. There is no entry fee for the ride, no charge for parking, and lunch is free! Bring your camera and enjoy the day. Read more about this year's Trail Ride and Pancake Breakfast!
The trail ride dates back to the early days of the St. Paul Rodeo when the stock was brought into town for the rodeo. Now, this tradition lives on in a fun ride along the Willamette River and through the St. Paul countryside. The morning begins with a full pancake breakfast that anyone can attend ($6.00 adults, kids 12 and under $3.00), after filling up on pancakes the riders mount their horses for a parade through the center of town, a trot through the countryside and ends hours later inside the rodeo arena with a lunch. The Annual St. Paul Rodeo is this July 1-4.
The St. Paul royal court will be leading the way. All riders are welcome and there is no charge for participating in the Trail Ride.
