The St. Paul Rodeo relies on the support of hundreds of individual volunteers and organizational partnerships developed throughout the greater area to promote its mission: Offering a world class rodeo event in honor of our Western Heritage. Every year the community and non-profits benefit from the St. Paul Rodeo to the tune of more than $500,000.

The St. Paul Rodeo Association provides much needed direct support to many charitable organizations each year. In 2025 direct charitable giving totaled over $200,000. Additionally, the non-profit St. Paul Rodeo Foundation awarded $15,500 in scholarships for education.

The St. Paul Rodeo provides close to $560,000 in community and charity support through both direct donations and providing the venue for local St. Paul organizations to raise significant funds. Scholarships

Two scholarships are awarded: (1) to a graduating St. Paul High School senior (2) to the child of a St. Paul Rodeo member. The amount of each scholarship is $5,000.

Scholarship Application

New scholarship “St Paul Rodeo Code of the West” award in amount of $1,000 will be distributed to the Northwest Youth Rodeo Association. It will be at the discretion of their Board to distribute the funds among 4 deserving youth demonstrating outstanding sportsmanship in rodeo.

Justin Cowboy Crisis Fund

Once again, St. Paul Rodeo is proud to partner with JCCF (Justin Cowboy Crisis Fund) and will donate all tips at the Tack Room Saloon, Outpost Bar and the numerous Beer Stands to "give a hand up" to rodeo athletes who are injured through their participation in rodeo. With the help of our fans, the St. Paul Rodeo's 2024 donation to JCCF was $45,000!

We encourage you to pay it forward as a way to give thanks to these PRCA World Champions, top competitors, and those with a dream of rodeo fame. Rodeo is considered one of the most dangerous and difficult sports in the world; the rodeo athlete puts personal well-being on the line in each and every event. With no guaranteed salaries or injured reserve provisions in rodeo, these athletes are often left with no place to turn when faced with serious, sidelining injuries and the accompanying financial hardship. This is where the JCCF steps in! The JCCF provides need-based assistance to those injured through participation in the sport of rodeo until they are able to get back on the road and compete again.

First Responder, Austin Smith, Honored

The St. Paul Rodeo community honors Austin Smith, age 30 and a St. Paul Fire Department Volunteer Firefighter, who lost his life while responding to a barn fire on February 3, 2022. Austin was a volunteer in every way, with a strong desire to give back to his community. The St. Paul Rodeo community aims to commemorate Austin's dedication to serving others and has pledged to donate 50 cents to the Austin Smith Foundation for every ticket sold to the First Responder Night performance.

Tickets on First Responder Night are discounted $2 each for all emergency personnel.

The St. Paul Rodeo was proud to contribute significantly to the Austin Smith Foundation in 2024, generating an impressive total of $42,305 through a combination of proceeds from the Hall of Fame auction and ticket sales.

Patriot Night - July 4

Highlighting Courtney Place

We are proud to expand our outreach this year by supporting a new veterans’ assistance organization during our Patriot Night performance on evening of July 4th.

Courtney Place operates a 34-unit veterans housing community in Salem, Oregon. They also provide critical services such as peer support, transportation assistance, health navigation, employment support, and opportunities for community engagement. Their mission focuses on providing stability first, followed by helping veterans achieve long-term independence and dignity.

As a non-profit, much of the fundraising they do goes directly toward programming that supports veterans of all ages. These programs include group activities such as fishing trips and other outings that encourage connection and camaraderie. In addition to housing and support services, helping veterans cope with depression and providing mental health resources are important parts of the work they do to support those returning home after service.
